Mastura to file motion at SC in defense of the Framework Agreement on the Bangsamoro

The Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process announced that Datu Mike Mastura will file before the Supreme Court an Urgent Omnibus Motion for Leave to intervene and to admit comment-in-intervention in defense of the Framework Agreeement on the Bangsamoro/Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro which are both challenged by PHILConsa and four other petitioners as unconstitutional, on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at 9:30 AM at Supreme Court, Padre Faura, Manila.

A press conference will follow right after  (approximately 10:30 am)  at Max's Restaurant fronting the Court of Appeals.

COMELEC: Source code review applications extended until September 30


The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) has announced today that parties or groups interested in conducting local source code review in connection with the automated election system for the May 9, 2016 national and local elections may file their written requests to participate not later than September 30, 2015.

Interested parties or groups, according to the COMELEC, must file a written request before the Commission’s Steering Committee signifying its intent to participate in the local source code review. The written request shall be filed during regular office hours at the Office of Commissioner Christian Robert S. Lim, Chairperson, Steering Committee, Commission on Elections.

The COMELEC said parties or groups interested in the local source code review must belong to any of the following: political parties or coalition of parties duly registered by the Commission or legitimate organizations or groups duly accredited by the Commission, which include duly accredited citizens’ arms; two (2) Information Technology (IT) groups recommended by the COMELEC Advisory Council which are known for their expertise, integrity and independence in the IT community; or Host educational institution.

In COMELEC Resolution No. 9987, promulgated 14 September 2015, the COMELEC said the conduct of a local source code review “seeks to provide interested parties and groups an opportunity to inspect the source codes in the Automated Elections System.”

Covered in the review include the source codes of the Vote Counting Machine (VCM), the Consolidated Canvassing System (CCS) and the Election Management System (EMS).

The source code review shall involve two phases. The first phase covers the review of the baseline source codes. The second phase covers the review of the source codes after the systems have been customized and configured according to the preference and needs of the Commission,” the Resolution furthered.

Section 12 of Republic Act No. 9369 directs that “once an Automated Election System Technology is selected for implementation, the Commission shall promptly make the source code available and open to any interested party or group which may conduct their own review thereof. The conduct of the sufficient source code review by any interested party will enhance public acceptance of and build public confidence in the Automated Election System. ###

Unang batch ng DOH paramedic trainees, ga-graduate na sa Martes


QUEZON CITY, ika-7 ng Setyembre ---Magsisitapos ngayong Martes ang unang batch ng mga trainee na pinag-aral ng Department of Health (DOH) para maging paramedic.

Ang paramedic ay bihasa o sanay sa pagbibigay ng paunang lunas (First Aid)  o kaya emergency medical care sa mga sugatan o may karamdaman.

Labing dalawa sa mga magsisitapos ay para sa Mimaropa na nakamotorsiklo kapag rumesponde.

"Ang mga ito (paramedics) ay mga naka-back pack--- may oxygen,  ECG machine, defibrillator, tracheostomy set, mga gamot para maka-responde agad sa mga taong nangangailangan ng tulong,"paliwanag ni  Regional Director Eduardo C. Janairo ng DOH-Mimaropa sa isang panayam.

"Ang mga gra-graduate ay pwedeng mag-inject (ng gamot) o gumamit ng defibrillator at pwede magsagawa ng minor surgery," sabi pa ni Director Janairo.

Dalawang taon ang itinagal ng pagsasanay: ilan sa mga trainee ay may background sa nursing.

Inaasahan din ni Director Janairo na magiging tagapagsanay or trainor ang mga bagong motorcyle paramedics.

Ang siyam sa mga ga-graduate ay mula sa DOH at ang nalalabi ay mula sa pribadong sektor ayon naman kay Glenn Ramos, Community Affairs and Media Relations Officer ng DOH Mimaropa.

Bukas ng gabi gaganapin sa Lungsod ng Maynila ang graduation mga DOH paramedic trainee.

Bukod kay Health Secretary Janette Garin, naanyayahan din sa graduation ang mga kalihim na sina Joel Villanueva ng Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) at Mario Montejo ng Department of Science and Technology.
