DOST-Pagasa: Bagyong Ramil magpapaulan ngayong maghapon at bukas sa napakaraming bahagi ng bansa.




Magdala ng payong, kapote o kaya bota bago pumunta sa sementeryo.

Patuloy ang babala ng DOST-Pagasa sa mga kababayan sa Northern Palawan, Calamian Group of Islands, Southern Occidental Mindoro, Southern Oriental Mindoro, Aklan at Antique na maghanda sa Bagyong Ramil.


Nangangahulugan din ito na pagbabawalan ng mga substation ng Philippine Coast Guard na pumalaot ang lahat ng uri ng sasakyang pandagat sa lahat ng mga pantalan ng mga lalawigang kung saan pinaiiral ang TCWS No. 1.

Ayon kay Elvie Tan Enriquez ng DOST-Pagasa, maaring lumikha ang Hanging Amihan malalaking alon sa mga baybayin ng Hilagang Luzon, silangang baybayin ng Sentral at Katimugan Luzon kaya hinihikayat nila ang mga mangingisda, mandaragat at mga byahero na ipagpaliban ang pagpalaot.

Ang Bagyong Ramil ay ang dating low pressure area na lumakas at naging isang tropical depression.
Ipinaliwanag ni Bb. Tan  na pinalalakas ng Hanging Amihan ang Bagyong Ramil na may katamtaman hanggang manaka-nakang malakas na pag-ulan sa loob ng 200 kilometrong lapad nito.

Sa briefing kaninang ika-11 ng umaga, inulat ni Senior Weather Specialist Chris Perez na ang bagyong Ramil huling namataan sa layong 85 kilometro timog-silangan-timog  ng Coron, Palawan.

Taglay ng Bagyong Ramil ang lakas ng hangin na 45 kilometro bawat oras na malapit sa gitna at pagbugso na aabot sa 60 kilometro bawat oras.

Inaasahan ng DOST-Pagasa na  kikilos ang Bagyong Ramil pakanluran sa bilis  na 20 kilometro bawat oras at tatawid  sa Calamian Group of Islands o Hilagang Palawan ngayong araw na ito.

Pinag-iingat din ang mga kababayan na naninirahan sa iba pang bahagi ng Mimaropa, Kabikulan, Metro Manila at Calabarzon sa mga biglaang pagbaha at pagguho ng lupa dahil sa  malakas na pag-ulan dala pa ring Hanging Amihan.#

SOS Children's Village features modern artists in Art Exhibit for a Cause


In celebration of their 50th Anniversary, the SOS Children's Village Philippines is holdng an "Art Exhibit for a Cause" in Muntinlupa City.

The exhibit features the works of Rene Robles, a painter leading the movement of assertivism and Aris Bagtas, noted visual artist and sculpture.

Also part of the exhibit are collectible Items that can be purchased.

These collectibles are donated by personalities such as Teddy Corpuz, Maxene Magalona, Sharlene San Pedro, Trina Legaspi, Myrtle Sarrosa, and Sarah Carlos.

Proceeds from the sale of arts and collectibles will be used for the benefit of their wards: children and youth who were abandoned, neglected or abused.

SOS has been providing home and parental care to over 1,200 in 96 family houses in 8 Children's Villages.

SOS, likewise,  assist families vulnerable to break-ups to prevent child neglect and abandonment in areas where they are present.

The SOS Children's Village's Art  Exhibit for a Cause ends on Sunday.

Mimaropa Naturally returns to Manila

Where do you get high quality products and pasalubongs from the Mindoros,  Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan all in one place?         
               


For the 3rd time,  the Department of Trade and Industry  organized Mimaropa Naturally Agri-Trade and Tourism to provide small and medium enterprises in the region a venue where they can  sell their products or services.

Mimaropa is famous for tourist destinations  like Puerto Galera, Puerto Princesa City Underground River as well as Icons such as Morions, Tamaraw and marbles.

The region is also a prime source of rice, bananas, seaweeds, tuna and other agricultural and marine  products.

Mimaropa Naturally opened on Wednesday and will run until Sunday, October 22, at the SM  Megamall.

"This won’t be made possible without the unwavering support from our partner agencies - DOT 4B, DAR 4B, DA 4B and the provincial government offices of the 5 provinces and city govts of Calapan and Puerto Princesa," said DTI-Mimaropa Regional Director Joel Valera.

"This year, we bring 150 micro small and medium enterprises to Manila. The MIMAROPA naturally agri trade and tourism fair continues to be the avenue of our entrepreneurs to gain new and larger markets," said Director Valera. #

Comelec suspends all preparations and activities for October polls

Following President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s approval on October 2, 2017 of Republic Act No. 10952 (see digital copy below) postponing the October 23, 2017 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections, COMELEC Chairman J. Andres D. Bautista has ordered the suspension of all activities in relation the said electoral exercise. The COMELEC Chairman issued today, October 4, 2017, a Memorandum addressed to all COMELEC Department Heads and all Regional Election Directors in Luzon and Visayas ordering the said suspension and ensuring that the same is immediately and properly disseminated to all concerned.
For his part, COMELEC spokesman James Jimenez said the poll body “welcomes the news that the President has just signed the law postponing the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections.” “Adjustments will be made to the COMELEC’s current preparations, taking the new date of elections into consideration, and continuing on-going activities for the 2019 exercise. Work goes on for us,” he said. #
