Veggie growers’coco candy project gets funds from DOST-Mimaropa’s GIA

Reyes (third from the left) as they hold together a tarpaulin bearing the image of Php-82,000 plus cheque from Grant-In Aid Program (GIA) of the Department of Science and Technology - Mimaropa.  The Association’s dehydrated buko and coconut candy production is one of the four community-based projects in Marinduque that are funded by GIA. The other beneficiaries are the Baliis Farmers Community Association of Sta. Cruz town (fiber processing project), Batayang Pamayanang Kristiyano-Buenavista Chapter (Virgin Coconut Oil and Coconut Concentrate project) and the Municipality of Boac (establishment of a kiln dry facility).  Also in the photograph demonstrating support are Marinduque Provincial Science and Technology Director Bernardo T.
