The Department of Social Welfare and Development - Mimaropa and its partners will be launching today a business center for Sustainable Livelihood Program o SLP beneficiaries sa Taytay, Palawan.
Regional Director Wilma Naviamos ng Department of Social Welfare and Development -Mimaropa said the business center is expected to open market opportunities for SLP groups.
SLP is a convergence program is supported by local governments like the Municipality of Taytay, Department of Science and Technology, Department of Agrarian Reform, Department of Agriculture and the Department of Labor.
At starters, Director Naviamos said the SLP groups making products from cashew nuts and seaweeds will be filling up the shelves of the new business center.
Naviamos is looking forward for other SLP groups to display their goods in the near future.
She called on kababayans who are looking for livelihood projects to see and consult their project development officers at the DSWD field offices based in the municipalities or cities.
She urged kababayans to form groups of 10 - 15 persons when applying for services under SLP. (LP)

Sa pagsasanib puwersa ng mga ahensiya ng pamahalaan at ng mga kaalayadong samahan, dumarami ang mga pagkakataon para magkaroon ng pagkakakitaan ang mga kababayang maralita.
Halimbawa na lang ang pagtatayo ng business center para sa mga benipisyaryo ng Sustainable Livelihood Program o SLP sa Taytay, Palawan.
" Ito ay pagkakataon para magkaroon ng market para sa lahat ng mga produkto (ng mga benispisyaryo) lalo na yung mga cashew nuts (kasuy) at mga seaweeds," paliwanag ni Regional Director Wilma Naviamos ng Department of Social Welfare and Development -Mimaropa.
"Sa unang yugto ng SLP-Business Center, pangungunahan muna ito ng kooperatiba na gumagawa ng cashew products. Actually ito ay isa sa mga modelo na SLP groups ng DSWD na isang national awardee....sa mga susunod na panahon, inaanyayahan na natin ang iba pang mga grupo na may mga produkto na sa ilalim ng Sustainable Livelihood Program na sumama at idisplay na rin sa business center," sabi nI Director Naviamos.
Ang SLP, isang convergence program, ay sinusuportahan din ng iba pang ahensiya gaya ng mga lokal na pamahalaan tulad ng Taytay, Department of Science and Technology, Department of Agrarian Reform, Department of Agriculture at Department of Labor.
