DOST Pagasa warned residents in Palawan, Mindanao and
the Visayas to take precautions against flash floods and landslides as two low pressure
areas (LPA) in the West Philippine and
Philippine Seas may develop into tropical depression in the coming days.
The LPA near Palawan (last estimated location at 115
kilometers South-South-West of Puerto Princesa City) is expected to cross the
island province today.
This LPA is forecasted to bring moderate to occasional heavy
rains and thunderstorms.
On the other hand, the LPA on the Philippine Sea (last
estimated location at 980 kilometers East South East of Hinatuan, Surigao Del
Sur) and the Inter-tropical convergence zone (ITCZ) may bring cloudy skies with
scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern
Mindanao, ARMM, Soccsksargen and Eastern Visayas.
