Limang daan at limang put apat na benepisyaryo ang tatanggap ngayon ng tig-walong pirasong materyales pang-bubong sa Oriental Mindoro. Ang pambubong ay mula sa Philippine Red Cross at para sa mga benepisyaro sa mga bayan ng Baco, Naujan, Socorro at maging sa Lungsod Calapan. Tulad ng Pinamalayan, maraming kababayan sa mga nasabing lugar ang nasiraan ng bahay matapos dumaan ang Bagyong Nona.

Relief assistance to Nona’s survivors in Mimaropa reach more than Php 9-M

QUEZON CITY, December 20 (PIA) --- The Department of Social Welfare and Development – Mimaropa reported on Saturday more than Php 9-M  (as of  3 pm, December 19) worth of relief assistance has been provided to survivors of Typhoon Nona in the region.

Half of the amount is the cost of family food packs distributed by local government units while the other half were fund augmented by the National Government.

Non-government organizations donated food packs worth Php 50,080.   

Since December 13, DSWD-Mimaropa, as well as the rest of the agency members of the Mimaropa Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, has been monitoring Typhoon Nona.

Food packs were prepositioned in various parts of the region to serve far and isolated barangays also known as Geographically Isolated Depressed Areas.

For instance, DSWD-Palawan and the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office collaborated in the stock piling of relief goods in Coron-Busuanga Area.

Based on its monitoring, DSWD-Mimaropa reported that Oriental Mindoro  continues to operate 113 evacuation centers serving 4, 985 families or 20, 567 individuals.

In terms of damaged houses, Oriental Mindoro the highest number in the region: 20,314 (totally damaged) and 17,842 (partially damaged).

DSWD Mimaropa’s Quick Response Team is monitoring and validating data received in the field for further resource augmentation on a 24 hour basis. (LP)

Relief assistance sa mga survivor ni Nona sa Mimaropa, lagpas Php 9-M

LUNGSOD QUEZON, ika-20 ng Disyembre (PIA) --- Inihayag ng Department of Social Welfare and Development – Mimaropa nitong Sabado na mahigit sa Php 9-M  (batay sa ulat nitong  ika-19 ng Disyembre, ika-3 ng hapon) na halaga ng  relief assistance ang naibigay sa mga  nakaligtas o survivor ng Typhoon Nona sa buong rehiyon.

Kalahati ng halaga ay mga family food pack na ipinamahagi ng mga lokal na pamahalaan  samantala ang nalalabi ay pondong natipon at ibinahagi ng pambansang pamahalaan.

Nag-ambag din ang mga non-government organization na family food packs na nagkakahalaga ng Php 50,080.   

Mula pa noong ika-13 ng Disyembre, nagbabantay na sa pagkilos ng Bagyong Nona ang DSWD-Mimaropa, kasama ang iba pang ahensiyang kasapi ng  Mimaropa Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council.

Maagang nagposisyon ang regional office ng mga food pack sa iba’t-ibang bahagi ng rehiyon lalo na yung mga bayan na may malalayong barangay o kung tawagin ay Geographically Isolated Depressed Areas.

Isang halimbawa ay sa  gawi ng Coron at Busuanga kung saan nagtulungan ang DSWD-Palawan at ang kanilang Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office sa pagtitipon ng relief goods.

Batay sa kanilang monitoring, iniulat ng DSWD-Mimaropa ang Oriental Mindoro ang may mataas na bilang ng mga nasirang tahanan: 20,314 (ganap na nasira) and 17,842 (bahagyang nasira).

Nagpapatuloy din ang operasyon ng lalawigan sa may  113 evacuation centers kung saan 4, 985 families or 20, 567 individuals sineserbisyuhan.

Mimaropa's response teams preparing for Typhoon Nona's passage

QUEZON CITY, December 14 (PIA) --- Response units in Mimaropa prepared their equipment and manpower before Typhoon Nona passes through the region.

The Coast Guard Districts of Southern Tagalog and Palawan are advised to implement the the strict observance of the guidelines on the movement of vessels during heavy weather

The guidelines prevent ships from venturing into the seas while public storm warning signals are in effect; only vessels at sea are exempted to allow them to find shelter.

The assessment of the number of ships and people stranded in Mimaropa's ports is still being determined.

But as of 8 pm last night, the number of stranded ships and passengers in various ports in other provinces are as follows: 3,272 passengers; 30  vessels; 9 motor bancas  9 and 115 rolling cargoes.

The Western Command (Westcom) and the Army's 203 Brigade has activated and put on standy their rescue platoons/units from its various companies.

In its Severe Weather Bulletin No.8, Pagasa-DOST reported that Romblon and Marinduque are now under Public Storm Warning Signal No. 2 (PSWS No. 2) while PSWS No. 1 is in effect over the Mindoro provinces. #

Pagasa DOST raises public storm warnings over Romblon, Marinduque and Oriental Mindoro

Pagasa-DOST has raised Public Storm Warning Signals in three provinces of Mimaropa that are within the forecasted track of Typhoon Nona.

Based on Severe Weather Bulletin No. 6-A, Romblon is now under Public Storm Signal No.2 (PSWS No. 2) while PSWS No. 1 is in effect over Marinduque and Oriental Mindoro.

Classes in kindergarten, elementary and high school are automatically suspended provinces under PSWS No. 2  while kindergarten students are the only one without classes in areas under PSWS No.1

Tourists and commercial sea travelers are advised to consult Coast Guard Southern Tagalog District to check if sea traveling in and out of Romblon, Marinduque and Oriental Mindoro are suspended.

Under Coast Guard’s Memorandum Circular No. 02-2013, vessels of any tonnage are prevented from sailing when Public Storm Warning Signals are hoisted over their locations unless looking for shelter.

Areas under PSWS No. 2 are expected to experience 61-120 kilometers per hour with 24 hrs. from the time the bulletin was released.

These kind of winds can tilt electric posts and power towers, tore off old roofs, uproot at put down trees, damage rice and corn fields and other damages.
