DSWD, RSCWC launch Children's Caravan in Occidental Mindoro

The Department of Social Welfae and Development - Mimaropa and the Municipality of San Jose, Occidental Mindoro will lead the Children's Caravan today at the town's municipal gym.

The caravan,  expected to have the same level of fun of Children's Month, is supported by member organizations (including this Agency) and organizations of the Regional Sub-Committee for the Welfare of Children (RSCWC).

RSCWC-Mimaropa is a policy-making a policy making and coordinating body for child welfare and protection,  programs and activities of regional line agencies and local governments.

" The activity is called Children's Caravan cum Adoption Conscioussness Week Celebration since the month of February marks the Adoption Conscioussness Month," said Regional Director Wilma Naviamos of DSWD-Mimaropa.

About 1,000 children, parents, teachers and  including people from indigenous communities are expected to participate.

Adoption is defined as a socio-legal process of providing a permanent family to a child whose parents have voluntarily or involuntarily relinquished parental authority over the child.

There are two types of adoption:

Agency adoptions - are those in which a licensed adoption agency finds and develops adoptive families for children who are voluntarily or involuntarily committed. The adoptive families go through the process from application to finalization of the child’s adoption under the auspices of the DSWD a licensed child-placing agency. The legal rights of the child, the parents who gave birth to the child and the parents who will adopt the child, are all equally protected.

Family or relative adoptions - are those where the biological parents make a direct placement of the child to a relative or a member of their extended family with whom they relinquish their child.

Childless couples or people ready to receive new family members from Mimaropa are encouraged to visit the regional office (or call 02-526-6077)  for details of agency adoptions.

Also highlighting the Caravan is the launching of the Sepilyo Mo, Sagot Ko para sa Ngiting
Aprubado which aims to gather 100,000 dental kits for children of Child Development Centers and indigenous people's communities in geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas.#

DSWD-Mimaropa's latest Listahanan offers new insights in the regional profile

The latest Listahanan of the Department of Social Welfare and Development - Mimaropa is offering new information about the poverty situation in the region.

Apart from the inclusion of kababayans unlisted in the first Listahanan, DSWD Mimaropa Regional Director Wilma Naviamos  said there are studies on the impact of social protection programs such Patawid Pamilya Pilipino Program, Sustainable Livelihood Program and PhilHealth.

More than 569,000 households in  Mimaropa were assessed under the Listahanan and about  207,863 were identified as poor.

Listahanan has data on women, children, youth, senior citizens, Indigenous People’s  and Persons with Disability; health and sanitation; and access to basic needs and social services.

Director Naviamos said the launching of Listahanan 2, scheduled June 30 in Puerto Princesa City, aims to involve local governments and other private institutions  in poverty reduction activities.

To become data users of Listahanan, local governments and private instition must be willing to sign  a memorandum of agreement with the DSWD Mimaropa ensuring that the information will be used to help poor households identified in the listing. (LP)

QUEZON CITY, Ika-30 Ng Hunyo (PIA) --- Ilulunsad ngayong araw na ito ng Department of Social Welfare and Development - Mimaropa ang Listahanan 2 sa Puerto Prinsesa City, Palawan.

"Ito'y pagbibilang ng mga mahihirap na pamilya sa rehiyon na hindi nakasama sa unang Listahanan at pagsusuri rin sa kalalagayan ng mga naunang nakasama sa Listahanan noong 2010," ayon kay Director Wilma Naviamos ng DSWD-Mimaropa.

Ang pagsasama sa mga datihang nakaasama sa Listahanan sa pagsusuri ay para mabatid kung anong pagbabagong naganap sa kanilang buhay magmula noong makasama sa Patawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program at iba pang social protection program.

Kabilang sa mga social protection program ay ang Sustainable Livelihood Program at ang PhilHealth.
Sa paglulunsad ng Listahanan 2, maari narin magamit ng mga kabalikat na samahan ng DSWD Mimaropa gaya ng mga lokal na pamahalaan at pribadong ang datos para mapakinabangan ng mga kababayang nasa Listahanan ang kanilang mga programa,

Mahigit sa 569,000 sa Mimaropa ang bilang ng mga kabahayang na sinuri para sa Listahanan 2 at  207,863 ang natukoy na mahihirap.

Makikita sa datos ng una at ikalawan Listahanan ang bilang ng mga maralita hanggang sa barangay. Natukoy din sa datos kung sino-sino ang nabibilang sa sektor ng kababaihan, kabataan nakatatandaa, katutubo at mga may-kapansanan.

Tukoy din sa datos ang kalagayan ng kanilang kalusugan, kalinisan at kung nakikinabang sa mga batayang serbisyo.

Para makagamit ng datos ng Listahanan, ayon kay Director Naviamos, kailangan mayroon nilagdaang memorandum of agreement ang isang ahensiya o institusyon sa DSWD-Mimaropa.

Lahat ng ahensiya na mayroong MOA sa DSWD-Mimaropa ay kailangan magsumite ng ulat kung paano ginamit ang datos ng Listahanan. (LP)

Relief assistance to Nona’s survivors in Mimaropa reach more than Php 9-M

QUEZON CITY, December 20 (PIA) --- The Department of Social Welfare and Development – Mimaropa reported on Saturday more than Php 9-M  (as of  3 pm, December 19) worth of relief assistance has been provided to survivors of Typhoon Nona in the region.

Half of the amount is the cost of family food packs distributed by local government units while the other half were fund augmented by the National Government.

Non-government organizations donated food packs worth Php 50,080.   

Since December 13, DSWD-Mimaropa, as well as the rest of the agency members of the Mimaropa Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, has been monitoring Typhoon Nona.

Food packs were prepositioned in various parts of the region to serve far and isolated barangays also known as Geographically Isolated Depressed Areas.

For instance, DSWD-Palawan and the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office collaborated in the stock piling of relief goods in Coron-Busuanga Area.

Based on its monitoring, DSWD-Mimaropa reported that Oriental Mindoro  continues to operate 113 evacuation centers serving 4, 985 families or 20, 567 individuals.

In terms of damaged houses, Oriental Mindoro the highest number in the region: 20,314 (totally damaged) and 17,842 (partially damaged).

DSWD Mimaropa’s Quick Response Team is monitoring and validating data received in the field for further resource augmentation on a 24 hour basis. (LP)

Relief assistance sa mga survivor ni Nona sa Mimaropa, lagpas Php 9-M

LUNGSOD QUEZON, ika-20 ng Disyembre (PIA) --- Inihayag ng Department of Social Welfare and Development – Mimaropa nitong Sabado na mahigit sa Php 9-M  (batay sa ulat nitong  ika-19 ng Disyembre, ika-3 ng hapon) na halaga ng  relief assistance ang naibigay sa mga  nakaligtas o survivor ng Typhoon Nona sa buong rehiyon.

Kalahati ng halaga ay mga family food pack na ipinamahagi ng mga lokal na pamahalaan  samantala ang nalalabi ay pondong natipon at ibinahagi ng pambansang pamahalaan.

Nag-ambag din ang mga non-government organization na family food packs na nagkakahalaga ng Php 50,080.   

Mula pa noong ika-13 ng Disyembre, nagbabantay na sa pagkilos ng Bagyong Nona ang DSWD-Mimaropa, kasama ang iba pang ahensiyang kasapi ng  Mimaropa Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council.

Maagang nagposisyon ang regional office ng mga food pack sa iba’t-ibang bahagi ng rehiyon lalo na yung mga bayan na may malalayong barangay o kung tawagin ay Geographically Isolated Depressed Areas.

Isang halimbawa ay sa  gawi ng Coron at Busuanga kung saan nagtulungan ang DSWD-Palawan at ang kanilang Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office sa pagtitipon ng relief goods.

Batay sa kanilang monitoring, iniulat ng DSWD-Mimaropa ang Oriental Mindoro ang may mataas na bilang ng mga nasirang tahanan: 20,314 (ganap na nasira) and 17,842 (bahagyang nasira).

Nagpapatuloy din ang operasyon ng lalawigan sa may  113 evacuation centers kung saan 4, 985 families or 20, 567 individuals sineserbisyuhan.

Ang Quick Response Team ng DSWD Mimaropa ay walang tigil ang pagbabantay at sa kasusuri ng datos na nanggaling sa kanilang mga field offices hinggil sa mga kababayan at mga lugar na naapektuhan ng Bagyong Nona. (LP)

DSWD-Mimaropa: may panahon pa para sumali sa Listahanan at Work Photo Contest

QUEZON CITY, Ika-28 ng Oktubre --- Mga photographer o mga mahilig maglitrato, makinig: hanggang ika-6 ng Nobyembre ang huling araw ng pagsusumite ng mga entry para sa kauna-unahang Listahanan at Work photo contest.

Inilunsad ang Listahanan at Work Photo Contest sa layuning maipakita sa publiko ang proseso ng pagtukoy sa mga benipisyaryo ng Listahanan at makalahok na rin sila sa pagkilatis sa paunang rehistro ng mga pamilya.

Ayon kay Ernie Jaraebejo, Listahanan Field Coordinator, bawat larawan ay kailangan sumalamin sa temang Listahanan at Work: Identifying families in need of social protection (Trabaho ng Listahanan: tukuyin ang mga pamilyang nangangailangan ng kalinga).

Pinaalalahanan ang mga photographer na ipadala sa DSWD Field Office ang sinagutang application form kasama ang tatlong halimbawa ng kanilang mga digital photograph.

Makukuha ang kopya ng application form sa website ng DSWD-Mimaropa (fo4b.dswd.gov.ph): pwede ring kopyahin ang application form sa ibaba.

Ang mga bawal sa patimpalak: bawal tatakan ang larawan (watermark, lagda o pangalan)

Bawal ang mga retokadong  larawang ngunit papayagan ang mga entry na sumailalim sa karaniwanang post-processing activity gaya ng  contrasting, color balancing, sharpening, cropping, dodging at burning

Ang mga mananalong photographer ay tatanggapan ng mga sumusunod na papremyo: Php 10,000 para sa grand  place, Php 7,000 para sa first runner-up at Php 5,000 para sa 2nd runner-up.

Listahanan at Work Photo Contest: not the usual competition

QUEZON CITY, October 28  --- When the  Department of Social Welfare and Development – Mimaropa (DSWD-Mimaropa) launched the Listahanan at Work Photo Contest early this month, it was not just one of those regular activities chosen to support the coverage of latest Listahanan validation.

DSWD Mimaropa has two reasons: one is to promote transparency and other is to encourage community participation on the process of identifying beneficiaries across the region.

Entries coming in are expected to reflect the theme “ Listahanan at work: identifying families in need of special protection.”

Application forms are ready for download at the DSWD Mimaropa website (fo4B.dswd.gov.ph) or download the scanned copy below.

Contestants must submit to the Regional Office entries consists of scan email copy of the accomplished application form and three digital samples (photographs).

Each entry must not have watermarks, signatures, names, or any markings.

Digital manipulation is not allowed but enhancements must be limited to basic post-processing such as adjustments of contrast, minimal color-balancing, sharpening, cropping and dodging and burning.

Winners will receive cash prizes: Php 10, 000.00 (grand prize); P7, 000.00 (1st runner-up); and P5, 000.00 (2nd runner-up).

Deadline of submission is on November 6, 2015. (LP)

Prepositioning: ayuda sa mga LGU tuwing may bagyo, kalamidad

Malaking bagay ang prepositioning ng mga food pack, lalo na sa mga islang probinsya.

Tulad ng mga lamgam, maagang nagpapadala at nag-iipon (stockpiling) ng mga family food pack ang Department of Social Welfare and Development - Mimaropa sa iba't ibang lalawigan sa rehiyon.

Kaya naman noong nakapasok sa Pilipinas ang Bagyong Ruby,  ready na ang bawat lokal na pamahalaan sa Mimaropa para alalayan ang mga kanilang mga nasasakupan.

Ang mga naipadala ay bukod pa sa inihandang mga relief good ng mga lokal na pamahalaan.

" Mas prepared ang region ngayon compared dun sa nakaraan na bagyong Yolanda. Extent ng damage ngayon is not as grabe tulad noon, and ang supply ng food packs ay agaran nabibigay dahil sa stockpile na nauna ng naihanda bago pa man magbagyo, " sabi ni Dwight Macabuhay, Regional Information Officer ng DSWD-Mimaropa.

Bawat family food pack ay may lamang  mga de lata, kape, instant mami at  bigas.

Sa advisory ng DSWD-Mimaropa nung ika-6 ng Disyembre, umabot sa 31, 496 ang mga nakakalat na sa iba't ibang lalawigan: yung ibang food pack sa regional office pa binalot.

Lahat ng food packs para sa mga probinsya ay inilagak sa isang bodega sa Batangas City na siyang naging relief distribution hub noong kasasagan ng pagpapadala ng relief goods.

Lahat yan nagawa bago pa bumabay sa Sibuyan Sea ang Bagyong Ruby noong Lunes ng madaling araw.

Sa anim na bayan sa Marinduque, mga 1,457 na pamilya ang nakinabang sa mga naunang family food packs (1,457 packs) na naipadala.

Nakapagpadala din ang regional office ng 200 family food packs ang Romblon.

Ayon kay Macabuhay, mayroong 1,722 food pack na nakatakdang ibyahe sa Romblon pero ang mga ito ay prepositioning supply at pamalit na rin sa mga nagamit ng lokal na pamahalaan nitong mga nakaraang araw.

Ang Occidental Mindoro naman ay nakatanggap din ng food packs para sa may 1,600 na pamilya sa may pitong bayan.

Sa ngayon may ipapadala pang 1,500 family food packs sa Lubang Island ng Occidental Mindoro: 1,000 para sa Lubang at 300 para sa Looc.

May kasamang karagdagang 200 family food packs pang-prepositioning ng Lubang sa kanilang supply.

Dagdag paliwanag ni Macabuhay, handang pa rin mag-padala ng family food packs ang regional office kung mayroong pang  lokal na pamahalaan na hihiling sa kanila.

Inaasahang ngayong gabi lalabas ng bansa ang Bagyong Ruby batay sa huling pagtaya ng Pagasa-DOST nitong  Miyerkules ng hapon. (LP)
