QUEZON CITY, December 14 (PIA)---At least six ports in
Mimaropa have suspended operations in response to the public storm warning
signals raised by Pagasa DOST due to
Typhoon Nona.
These ports are Poctoy (Odiongan) and Romblon (Romblon town)
of Romblon; Banalacan (Mogpog) and Cawit (Boac) of Marinduque; and Calapan
(Calapan) and Dangay (Roxas) in Oriental Mindoro.
Once a public storm warning signal (PSWS) is in effect in a
province, the Philippine Coast Guard will not allow any kind of vessel to sail except
for those ships that are already in the ocean and searching for shelter.
As of 11 Sunday night, Romblon and Marinduque are under PSWS
No. 2 while Oriental Mindoro is still under PSWS No. 1.
The seas covered by PSWS No. 2 will have 4 – 14 meter high
waves and storm surges may occur in coastal barangays. #
