The National Disaster
Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) put up new Facebook
and Twitter accounts dedicated to quick response and coordination for
the Typhoon Ruby humanitarian efforts.
“These official
Facebook and Twitter accounts are for information exchange and
coordination only so we can facilitate quick response to everyone in
need,” said NDRRMC Executive Director Alexander Fama in a press
conference Saturday night.
NDRRMC's newest social
media for response are the following: Ruby Response Cluster (on
Facebook), @ruby response and #rubyresponse (on Twitter) and
rubyresponsecluster@gmail.com
(for e-mails).
People may opt to call or
text NDRRMC at 0928-258-8676 and 0928-258-8691 or use the following
landlines: 911-1230, 91101292, 911-1183, 911-1178 and 911-11173
Undersecretary Fama said the public
need to specify the nature, time and location of the problem and
identify themselves properly.
He urged the public to refrain from
posting irrelevant and unvalidated information or pranks on NDRRMC FB
and Twitter accounts so people who are truly in need of help will be
assisted. (LP)
