Malacanang on Monday suspended work in
all government offices in Metro Manila (NCR or National Capital
Region), Calabarzon (Region IV-A) and Mimaropa (Region IV-B) due to
the impending passage of Typhoon Ruby in these areas.
Also suspended today, December 8, are
classes in all levels in the same regions, according to Deputy
Presidential Spokesperson Abigail Valte based on an action made by
Executive Secretary Paquito N. Ochoa.
But Usec. Valte clarified that the
suspension does not cover those who are involved in the delivery of
basic and health services, disaster response and other vital public
services.
Pagasa-DOST on Sunday night raised
Public Storm Warning Signal No. 1 over Marinduque, Oriental Mindoro,
Occidental Mindoro including Lubang Island, Romblon, Batangas,
Laguna, Cavite and Southern Quezon.
Public Storm Warning Signal No. 2 is in
effect over Calamian Group of Islands, Rizal, the rest of Quezon and
Metro Manila.
Only Northern Palawan including Cuyo
island remained under Public Storm Signal No.1.
Usec Valte likewise urged private
sector in the three regions to consider the forecasted weather
conditions in favor of the welfare and safety of their employees.
